Part 1: Setup Your Account
Start here: Create your LinkedIn account using your personal email address so you can access your profile after graduation.
- Go to https://www.linkedin.com/ and click Join now.
- Use your personal email (not a temporary school login if you will lose access).
- Create a secure password you can remember, then complete email verification if prompted.
- Enter your real first and last name, school or current role, and location so your account setup can finish.
- Sign in successfully and confirm you can open your own profile page.
Common Setup Issues
- I already have an account: Use Sign in instead of Join now, then reset your password if needed.
- I did not get the verification email: Check Spam/Junk and search for "LinkedIn" in your inbox.
- It asks for phone verification: Complete the prompt, then continue account setup.
- I accidentally used the wrong email: Sign out and restart account creation with your personal email.
If you get stuck during setup, raise your hand before moving to Part 2.
